Wisdom Teeth Extraction

At Bain Dental Group, our highly trained group of dentists are able to perform wisdom teeth extraction surgery without you having to find a specialist. Our state-of-the-art dental facility is fully-equipped to perform this oral surgery in-house for ultimate comfort and ease.

Wisdom teeth are the molars that grow in all the way in the back of your mouth, also called the third molars. They typically pop up during late-teen years into early 20s, but most people’s mouths are not large enough to accommodate these extra teeth. This leads to many potential oral health issues and requires action.

Since many people’s mouths aren’t large enough to accommodate third molars, there are many potential oral health problems associated with them including:

• Persistent pain and infections
• Gum disease
• Bad breath
• Tooth decay
• Impacted teeth
• Cysts
• Higher risk for cavities

Loss of gums and/or bone in your mouth and jaw

And this is just the start. For these reasons, many dentists will remove the wisdom teeth to avoid these oral health complications. During bi-annual dental exams, our dental team will consistently monitor the growth of third molars to determine if and when extraction surgery will be necessary.

Most people have their wisdom teeth removed. It’s a very routine procedure that we do at our Bain Dental Group offices daily.

The procedure is done using local anesthetic so you don’t feel anything but a pinch and some pressure. Our skilled and gentle dentists remove the wisdom teeth, clean the area, stitch the wound if necessary (it isn’t always), and place gauze over the area for the start of recovery. You’ll get explicit instructions for post-op care from the dentist to ensure a quick and painless recovery.

The surgery is very common and prevents future dental problems and discomfort!
